First up on Friday we were delighted to host the 5th and final round of the Juvenile league here at the track in Arklow. It goes without saying that the weather conditions were a bit challenging! Nonetheless huge congratulations to all of our Juveniles who ran in their respective age groups on a very tough evening and thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the event run as smoothly as possible. We ended up finishing in a fantastic 2nd place overall on the final Club Points standings after the 5 rounds which is an amazing achievement for the club!
Next on Saturday we had Gavin (21:48) at Avondale parkrun while Kornelia, and Adrian (30:25) were at Gorey. Gareth travelled to Queen’s Belfast parkrun finishing in (26:49).
Congratulations to one of our newest members Bart who finished in 12th place at the Gaelforce 10k in Bray in a time of (52:20)!
Philip took on the Hope and Dream 10k in Wexford in a time of (1:04).
On Sunday Izzy travelled to Athlone for the National Indoor Track & Field Championships to compete in the High Jump event. Huge well done and congratulations on achieving a fantastic 10th place with a height of 1.15 metres!
Ludo travelled to Slovakia for the Bratislava Half Marathon and finished in a time of (2:00). Well done Ludo!
Well done to Mollie, David, Evie, Libby, and Eoghan who all took part in the Community Games and to everyone who took part in the Wicklow Schools Invitational in Greystones with fantastic running and results.
Mollie then went on to the Enniscorthy open Track & Field event and took part in the U12 Sprint, 600m, Turbo Javelin, and U13 Shot Putt. Congratulations to Leo who also took part in the U15 seated Javelin and Shot Putt coming home with 2 Gold medals!
Well done to Harry P, Emily R, Michael, Hannah K, Sienna, Grace, Archer, Robyn, Georgia K, Noah, and Ella who all completed the Duckpond Junior parkrun.
