Another super weekend for the crew of SBIM!

Our juveniles were out in force on Saturday at the Athletics Track and Field event in Greystones. It was a fantastic experience for the kids; they each took part in four events – the turbo javelin, long jump, 60m sprint and a lap of the track. They were absolute superstars giving their best in all events throughout the day. There were lots of smiles and even more flying feet. Well done to all the kids who took part and thanks to their parents for bringing them along. Thank you to Anna, Donna, Michael, Jacqueline, Justyna and Pat who co-ordinated on the day and to all our juvenile coaches who have been preparing the kids over the summer months.

Each child came away with a medal; Congratulations to them all

Gold Medal– Jessie and Olly
Silver Medal – Alfie, Aoife, Ben, Beibhinn and Fiadh
Bronze Medal – Adam, Aoife, Beth, Cara, Chloe, Darragh, Freddie, Georgia, Hannah, Jakub, Juliette, Laura, Natalia, Ollie Oskar and Saoirse

On Sunday, our juveniles were back out at junior parkrun at the Duck Pond. Congratulations to Kate who was first finisher for the second week in a row. Well done to all who took part; Adam, Baileigh, Ethan, Hannah, Layla and Madison. This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of volunteers – thanks to Gareth, Geraldine, Gillian, Jacqueline, Justin, Kevin, Michael, Slawek, Susan and Zydrune

Our Seniors cannot be forgotten! The long awaited Ecotrail finally took place, starting in Bray, out to Powerscourt and back over some tough climbs in hot conditions. Well done to Alison on completing the 19k in 3hrs 10 mins and to Kevin and Slawek on completing 46k in 6hours and 54 mins. Some of the pictures are of stunning scenery, we hope the climbing needed to get to them was worth it! A well deserved rest is in order for you all.

Aoife and Eimear headed to take on the aptly named Stairway to Heaven, a scenic hill walk with 450 steps at the top to reach the summit. Well done ladies!

Closer to home, Gareth (27:58), Layla (27:54) and Susan (33.11) were at the popular Gorey parkrun. We hear it was a hot contest towards the finish line. Well done to you all.

Finally, Denny completed the weekend taking on the 10k in the Great Manchester Run completing in 47.20 and finishing 3rd in his age group. Well done Denny, great result!
