We had ourselves another busy weekend here at SBIM. First up on Saturday we had our ladies who headed to the popular Gorey parkrun. Aoife finished 1st in her age category in 24:17, there was little to seperate the SBIM sisters as usual with Carmel & Geraldine finishing in 27:05 & 27:06 respectively although the photo finish is still being analysed! Special mention and congratulations to one of our newest members Esme who completed her first parkrun in 33:19! Gareth continued his parkrun tour by heading to complete the Waterford Nature parkrun.

Also on Saturday we saw both Stephen and Toni complete their first half marathon distance. Well done on a super achievment after a lot of hard work put in. There was also cake courtesy of Anthony and Stephen to celebrate both the distance and Toni’s birthday!

On Sunday, our Juveniles were back out at Arklow Junior parkrun at the Duck Pond. Well done to all who took part; Hannah, Madison & Baileigh. This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of volunteers – thanks to Slawek, Zydrune, Donna, Justin, Aofie, Geraldine & Jacqueline and the rest of the volunteer roster. Don’t forget to get in touch if you are looking to volunteer!

Stan headed a bit further afield on Sunday and travelled home to take on his first Marathon in Silesia, Poland. The many months of hard work and determination paid off with an incredible time of 3 hrs 22 mins on a tough route. Huge congratulations Stan!

Ross head up North to complete two legs/11.5 miles of the Belfast relay in a cracking time of 1 hr 32 mins. Well done Ross!

Also on Sunday our Juveniles made their long awaited return to the Wicklow Cross Country event at Roundwood. We had a total of 19 boys and girls competing in a variety of distances. Huge well done to Laura, Georgia, Fiadh, Natalia, Lola, Aoife, Juliette, Chloe, Katie, Ciara, Layla, Ellie, Alfie, Jakub W, Nathan, Adam, Jakub J, Tristan & Euan. It is amazing to see everyone putting their best efforts in every week with smiles and enthusiasm, doing both themselves and the club proud!

Senior member training continues this week, Tuesday 7pm at the track. New members always welcome, get in touch to arrange to come along!
