We started early this week with our traditional Halloween party on Wednesday night for the juvenile group. I’m not sure who was more excited the kids or the coaches but the night did not disappoint for anyone. We started with a spooky walk around the pond followed by some games and our costume parade. The coaches were very impressed by the efforts of all the kids (and the adults responsible for them). Each group selected their best dressed costume winner… everyone was very impressive but their could only be one winner per group. Congratulations to Freddie, Andy, Fionn and Jay.

The evening finished with some cakes from Paula and Hilda and a goodie bag to take home courtesy of Cakes by Aoife. We hope they got some sleep but there may have been a few scary stories that kept them awake.

Normal running resumed at the weekend. On Saturday we had Conor at Avondale parkrun completing in 24:27. Out at Gorey parkrun we had John (20:04), Kevin (21:42) and Gareth (28:22). Well done to all! Geraldine and Carmel were on timekeeping duty, well done ladies.

On Sunday morning the kids were back in action at junior parkrun. Well done to Aaron, Adam, Alfie, Ben, Baileigh, Beibhinn, Euan, Georgia, Hanna, Hannah, Kate, Katie, Layla, Libby, Madison, Ruairi, Saoirse and Tommy. They are all absolutely flying and it’s great to see them put their training into practice.

Volunteers are an essential part of the event, thanks to Denny, Donna, Geraldine, Gillian, Justin, Michael, Susan, Slawek, Teresa and Zydrune.

Finally a huge shout out to those who took on the marathon distance this weekend… on what should have been the Dublin City Marathon, Alison and Rose took on the virtual event. What an amazing achievement to complete without the cheers and support from the crowd. Derek headed to Kildare to take part in the Thoroughbred marathon, congratulations on achieving a super pb time of 3:33. Well done to you all, a marathon is a proud achievement, we hope you enjoy some rest and relaxation this week.

There is no training this week for our juvenile groups. Adults, normal training schedule with hill sessions at Elavon. Get in touch if you would like to know more about our adult group.
