Weekly Roundup October 11th

The medals and t-shirts are stacking up for the SBIM members as we head into the winter months. The hard work and training are paying off for everyone!

We had a large group of our ladies (and one wannabe lady) take part in the Virtual Mini Marathon across the last two weeks. On Saturday morning we split into training groups to take on the 10K distance in aid of our chose charity, Firstlight. We are nearing the €500 mark thank you to all who have donated so far, a few days left if you would still like to donate here

It was a special day for one group of ladies, they joined on one of the coldest, wettest nights of the year back in February to take on the Couch to 5K programme. Lockdown caused a bump in the road but they persevered and completed the 10K distance on Saturday. Well done ladies, we are thrilled to see you get to 10K.

Well done to all who took part;
Aoife, Clair, Geraldine, Kathleen, Teresa – 56 mins
Carmel, Jackie, Jillian, Sam, Trish, Zydrune – 57 mins
Donna, Janette, Justyna – 58 mins
Ann, Melissa, Susan – 1:05
Lisa, Nicola – 1:10
Dorothy, Denny (Denise), Joan, Sonia, Paula – 1:12
Shauna – 1:46
Alison, Michelle, Rose

Thanks to Gareth for the fantastic photos and support and to Justin for the goodies at the end.

The medals are flying are for recent events we have taken part in – the Wicklow Sportspartnership 5K, The Family Mile and many other virtual events. Well done to all our members who are hitting the roads and still taking part where we can.

Training continues with new senior members welcome to join. Juvenile groups are currently full.
