Marathon
Well after last weekends stellar performances at the marathon it was a quiet enough week overall for the St.Benedict Inbhear Mór AC crew. Rest was the order of the day and most of our 30 strong marathon participants enjoyed a break this week.

There is always someone out and about and this weekend saw a return to the popular Avondale Forest Parkrun. Justin (aka Bruce Wyane) was on Run Director duty with Donna on the volunteer roster.

Aoife and Sharon having completed the marathon last weekend, braved the hills of Avondale. Sharon completed in 24:39, Aoife in 26:41 and Donna as tail-walker in 59:00. Well done ladies.

On Sunday Susan head to the East Antrim Marathon Series Halloween Frightener to complete Marathon number 105 as the New York Marathon virtual entry. Well done Susan completing in 6 hrs 10 mins on the back of Dublin last week!

Meanwhile Trish headed across the Atlantic for the New York City Marathon also on the back of the Dublin marathon last weekend. Trish completed in 4 hrs 16 mins. Well done Trish and we can’t wait to hear all about taking on such an epic event. Trish has now completed the super achievement of completing all 6 World Marathon Majors having taken on Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York and Tokyo. This is an amazing achievement and we can’t wait to see the special medal you will receive.

Closer to home the inaugural Arklow Duck Pond Junior Parkrun event was held on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. We are so proud that our members have been part of the set up of this event. A large number of members were on hand to help out on the day. Well done to Alan, Aoife, Alison, Clair, Denny, Donna, Ger, Gillian, Justin, Jackie, Kevin, Ludo, Marc, Michael, Sam, Teresa, Tiernan and Tommy. Carmel, John and Susan have also been involved in the set up. Well done everyone, there are club members of the future in our Junior Parkrunners and their parents and whilst we hope to inspire them, today they inspired us!
