First of all we would like to wish everyone a very happy new year and the best of luck for 2023. It didn’t take long for the SBIM crew to get back into action following the Christmas break. First up was the popular Croghan Chase on Tuesday 27th. It was a family feeling in the 4k distance with Layla, and Susan (25:44), followed by Harper who completed her very first race with Geraldine (27:13) and Gareth in (26:42). Meanwhile Slawek (41:23) took on the 8k course.
Saturday was parkrun time. Well done to Tiernan (21:30), Marc (26:19), Beth, Jacqueline (31:32), Donna (38:38), and Madison who were at Avondale with Justin on the volunteer roster.
Toni finished Gorey parkrun in (27:34) with Tina in (31:19).
Gareth completed a Christmas Day parkrun at Wexford Racecourse in (38:15) along with Ormeau parkrun on New Years Eve (32:32) and finished off with Valley parkrun in Newtownabbey (38:14). Well done Gareth!
Oliver took part in the Inbhear Dee Streets of Wicklow 5k race.
Aoife (25:40), Carmel (27:56), Teresa (29:30) & Geraldine (29:31) all completed the Progression parkrun in Mountjoy prison. Well done ladies!
Slawek clocked up an impressive 50k run in support of a friend who was taking on a 100k challenge from Enniscorthy.
On Sunday it was the Parnell AC New Years Day 5k. Well done to Mollie who finished 2nd in the girls U10 mile category, Layla who ran the U14 mile and then also ran the 5k with Susan (31:44) and Michael (23:04) with Adam finishing 3rd in the U12 boys mile category.
Senior training resumes on Tuesday at 7pm meeting at the track. Juvenile Training resumes on Monday 9th.
